We were founded in 1986 by employees of Southern Electric Swindon District with a committe of Terrry Jefferies (Chairman) Ken Carpenter (Treasurer) and myself Chris Lach (Secretary). In the early years our membership was mainly made up of Southern Electric employees, associate and family members of the sports and social club (The Faraday Sports and Social Club). Over the years our membership numbers have fluctuated with a peak in 2000 of 53 and a low of 24 in the first two years. For my sins i remain the only original member and unfortunately due to demise of the Swindon offices of Southern Electric we no longer have any employee members, although as well as myself our current chairman John Burns is an ex employee.
